Unless there are 12 normal citizens against those 6 lobbyists, there’s no hope for real reform.
Unless those 12 normal citizens have private jets to take lawmakers to resorts and spas, there’s no hope for real reform.
You can bet that the lobbyists have fantastic private insurance. We know the lawmakers have fantastic private insurance, paid for by taxpayers!
We’re screwed. Money in the hands of the insurance industry lobbyists? Priceless…

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009Bill O’Reilly was a pig to veteran White House reporter Helen Thomas, a columnist with Hearst Newspapers.
Not much makes me angry, but this did:
The White House press corps looked intimidated to me,” O’Reilly said. “Except for that, what’s her name? The old lady, Helen Thomas.”
O’Reilly then squawked out a Helen Thomas impression.
It is so vulgar to mock such a distinguished reporter, because of her age.
President Bush apparently was intimidated by her, he refused to call on her. Obama was able to honor her by taking her question early in his Administration.
During this morning’s briefing, on his birthday, Obama appeared with cupcakes and led the press corps in singing “Happy Birthday” to Thomas, who turns 89.
He treated her with dignity and kindness.
What a world of difference a few months and a new leader can make…
