Sometimes what comes out of the mouths of our pay-to-play politics is STUNNING!
As liberal protesters marched outside, Sen. Max Baucus sat down inside a San Francisco mansion for a dinner of chicken cordon bleu and a discussion of landmark health-care legislation under consideration by his Senate Finance Committee.
At the table on May 26 were about 20 donors willing to fork over $10,000 or more to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, including executives of major insurance companies, hospitals and other health-care firms.
“Most people there had an agenda; they wanted the ear of a senator, and they got it,” said Aaron Roland, a San Francisco health-care activist who paid half price to attend the gathering. “Money gets you in the door. The only thing the other side can do is march around and protest outside.”
Oh really, the only thing the other side can do is march around? OUTSIDE?
This is what’s wrong with America, the $10,000 chicken cordon bleu…

Eco-Shaped Bottles
What a selling point, but what does it mean? There is an indent half way up the bottle
Arrowhead says they have made TWO big changes, 30% less plastic per bottle and the label is 1/3 smaller.
30% less plastic could come from the indent, which is also sold as a positive for the buyer because ‘its easier to hold!’
So the manufacturer uses 30% less plastic, puts in the same or less water and charges the same or more than older style bottles. It’s a win-win for the bottled water company.
I suspect that people have no idea how much money they spend on liquids that they put into their bodies, so they think they’re ‘doing good’ when they buy the eco-shape bottle and recycle it, not knowing that they could have money in the bank and one container refilled from taps at home and work.
No bottle at all would be best for the environment, no recycling, no chemicals leaching into the water from the plastic bottles. Most places in America have – gasp, how uncool – tap water that can be put into reusable containers and carried around.

High heels, golden pants, two belts, khaki shirt, Indiana Jones hat and classic motorcycle. Yep, a typical American woman heading off on summer vacay?
Anywhoooooo, I’ll be driving a big SUV, with beach towels, boogie boards, and multiple kids! Like most American moms lucky enough to get some time away this summer.

Um, is that like Super Spidey senses?
A purse does not give you power.
Carrying a $15,000 purse does not give you power.
It just means you have $15,000 less in your bank account, or you’ve charged $15,000 on a credit card.

I just came across a post at Sociological Images about an outrageously racist flash video game called Border Patrol. They note that in the game, “you try to keep three types of Mexicans from crossing the border: drug dealers, Mexican nationalists, and ‘breeders.’” Video game site Kotaku — which thankfully also calls the video game racist — gives a highly similar description. As you’ll notice in the image above, which is of a heavily pregnant and barefoot caricatured woman crossing the border, she is also on her way to the welfare office.
But you may also notice something else. Looking at the image, there are bullet holes in the sign that says “Welcome to the United States” (with a picture of a flag that seems to indicate an anti-Semitic message that the country is run by Jews — am I missing something?). The woman in the game also looks like her head is in the cross hairs of a gun.
That’s right, in this game we’re not “stopping” Mexican immigrants from crossing the border without documentation by, oh, calling the police. Or by using another horrific and degrading option like catching them in a net to send them back over the border.
No, players are shooting them dead.

This is a statue in Dallas’ Freedmans Cemetary, of two slaves, with whip marks on their backs. Its Independence Day for all, equality for all.
