You have to walk your talk, America

Nail in the Tea Party Coffin

Hat tip to Macon and Oliver Willis:

I’m all for protesting about taxes, but Macon puts forth the following stats:

During Ronald Reagan years, US debt went from $85 billion to $255 billion.

  • Did Republicans throw Tea Party protests?  Um, NO.

George Herbert Walker Bush took the deficit up to $399 billion in his 4th year of Presidency, he thought it was great, because debt had hit $432 billion in his 3rd year.

  • Did Republicans throw Tea Party protests?  Um, NO.

President Clinton managed to turn the deficit into a $128 billion SURPLUS.

  • Did Republicans throw Tea Party jubilees?  Um, NO.

George W, in his first year, turned that surplus into a $133 billion deficit.  Again, the US was DEEP in debt.

  • Did Republicans throw Tea Party protests?  Um, NO.

By last year, the deficit had ballooned to more than $10 trillion.

  • Did Republicans throw Tea Party protests?  Um, NO.

TEN TRILLION DOLLARS AND NO TEA PARTY PROTESTS?

Radio wags like Limbaugh and Beck and Santelli?  They’re just mad they lost the election.  They don’t really care, or they would have complained about the billions George W spent on his war, which he hid from Congress and kept off the budget books.  As Macon points out, this is similar to the Wall Street accountants ‘forgetting’ to actually show real losses on their balance sheets.

  • Did Republicans throw Tea Party protests?  Um, NO.

And last Fall, when Bush jammed the $700 BILLION bank and auto industry bailout through?

  • Did Republicans throw Tea Party protests?  Um, NO.

Why? Because its not a real movement.  Its an anti Barack Obama statement.

Its an unconsciously (let’s hope) racist, anti-American statement of such epic proportions that they fail to see how obviously empty their acts are, in light of their INACTION when billions, and billions, and billions, and billions of dollars were blown by  THEIR OWN PARTY year after year.

As a populist action group, it sounded great, but as an AUTHENTIC populist action group, it fails.
