You have to walk your talk, America

93 year old US war vet FREEZES to death, unable to pay his electric bill

Written on April 8, 2009 – 1:59 am | by Schizo America |

Is this how we want to have things, in America?  So profit driven that we let our war heroes die alone, shivering, unable to protect themselves from freezing winter cold?  Because they missed payments on their electricity bill?

This guy fought for his country.  What did his country do for him?

For $1000 owed, Bay City, Michigan, killed him.  Meanwhile Bernie Madoff was free to go home to his warm $50 million Upper East Side home while being tried for ripping off thousands of Americans…

I believe we need to provide solid, trustworthy support to our toddlers and our elders, as a minimum.  Nutritious food, assisted living, interesting days and peaceful nights.

Don’t call me a Socialist. I’m a MOMist. I can’t stand to see cruel and freakish deaths like this, that could easily be avoided if we, as a country, gave a damn about our citizens.  It really IS as SIMPLE as diverting profits from billionaires, who recently have contributed to an epic worldwide global depression, to the poor and helpless.

Disagree with me?  Note this:  Bernie Madoff, who screwed over thousands of investors who are now broke, got screwed himself recently, on your dime.

I am fed up and want to see tax dollars going to care of our helpless, especially someone like who served in wartime and was left to die alone, FROZEN, over an unpaid heating bill. (It should be illegal to shut off electricity when weather is too hot or too cold…)
