YouTube Sensation Ryan Nigahiga makes a good case for ‘Fair Use’ of bits of music
Ryan’s YouTube account alone has 24 million channel views, this video has 1/2 million views and 20,000 comments. He also has a MySpace account that has similar performance numbers.
He’s won awards at YouTube: #2 for Most Subscribed (All Time), #2 for Most Subscribed (All Time) Comedians.
That means that ANY music he uses allows millions of listeners to hear the tune in a new context, which helps cement it in memory.
I agree with him. We’re in a new world with instantaneous repetitive communication. We need looser rules.
